Express Entry
Express Entry System
Express Entry system designed to make the Canadian immigration process more accessible and efficient. Launched in January 2015, with three main objectives;
(1) Flexibility in selection and application management;
(2) Responsiveness to labour market and regional needs; and
(3) Speed in application processing
Express Entry uses the Comprehensive Ranking System to identify candidates most likely to achieve high employment earnings and who are able to maximize their economic performance in the Canadian labour market.
Express Entry is Canada’s evidence-based application management system for certain economic immigration categories: Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSW), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and a portion of the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
The Express Entry system is not an immigration program itself, but only a system that manages the pool of candidates for Federal Economic Immigration programs, namely FSW, FSTP & CEC.
Candidate in pool gets points based on the information in profile. To be chosen from the pool and Invited to Apply (ITA), candidate needs to have one of the highest-ranking scores when IRCC send out invitations. Candidates who receive an ITA in a EE Rounds of Invitations, can only apply for permanent residence within 60 days of receiving an ITA.
