Federal Skilled Worker

This program is specifically designed to attract skilled workers who have foreign work experience and are looking to settle in Canada permanently.

Candidate must meet all the following minimum requirements to be eligible under FSWP.

  • Skilled work experience (Must have 1 continuous year of full-time or equivalent part-time in a same occupation within last 10 years in a NOC skill level 0,A,B)
  • Language ability (English/French -minimum CLB 7 in all four abilities)
  • Education (Must have High School or Post-Secondary certificate, diploma or degree)

Must have minimum 67 points out of 100 under following 6 selection factors:

  • Education
  • Language ability (English and/or French)
  • Work Experience
  • Age
  • Arranged Employment
  • Adaptability (settlement in Canada)

Candidate must have enough money to support themselves and their family to settle in Canada, unless candidate:

  • Currently able to legally work in Canada
  • Have a valid job offer form an employer in Canada

Candidate who scores 67 points or more is then eligible to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to enter the Express Entry pool which uses a different CRS system to rank the candidate profile. IRCC select the highest-ranking candidates from the pool and invite them to apply for permanent residence.
